About Fine Firsts Limited. We are an online, company, based in the UK. We specialize in the buying and selling of fine books with an emphasis on modern first editions.

Fine Firsts stock over 500 first editions from over 250 distinct authors. Many titles are author signed and nearly all of our stock is in fine or very good condition, free from gift inscriptions and with unclipped dust jackets.

Our signed copies are guaranteed as authenticated and Fine Firsts employ comprehensive checks before listing any book as signed.

We specialise in modern first editions, children’s literature, dystopia and literary classics.  We sell and ship globally. 2023 has seen our books sent all over the world including the United States, Brazil, Hong Kong, Germany and of course the UK.

Book descriptions and assessments of condition can vary wildly from one book dealer to another. One person’s “fine condition” is another person’s “near fine” or even “very good”. To avoid such subjectivity, we always err on the side of caution. As well as comprehensive descriptions, we display multiple and high quality photographic images. Further images or video descriptions are always available upon request. If you wish to obtain such images, just email with a link or description of the book in question. We always do our utmost to describe every book accurately by photographing any blemishes. Obviously holding such large stock, errors and omissions can potentially occur which is why we offer a 14 day no quibble refund. As of 2023, we have never had a book returned because of an issue with the description or for any other reason.

Whilst many of our books qualify for free postage, return postage will not be covered. Refunds will be processed within three working days. All returns should be in identical condition to despatch condition.
